National Cousin’s Day:
July 24 is an exclusive day that tributes all the cousins, who play a significant role in our lives along with our friends. We make friends with our choice, effort, and consent, but cousins are the ready-made individuals that God gives us as a gift with our birth. Friends, especially the best friends, prove to be precious gems in one’s life, but the importance of cousins can’t be ignored. For if they are older than us, they are as concerned about us as our parents and elder siblings. If cousins are our age fellows, they act as friends, who always accompany us in all the ups and downs of our life. And if they are younger than us, they fulfill the deficiency of younger siblings and children.
We spend our childhood with our cousins, share our sweet & sour moments with them, and tell our secrets to them. But there is some drawback in cousinship rather than friendship because cousins can’t be with us throughout our life. As we grow old and time passes, new friends replace new friends. College friends replace the school buddies, university fellows replace the college friends, the job colleagues replace the university partners, and our life goes on. But there is no alternative of cousins; no new cousin can come to our life.
In childhood, cousins live together, but as we get separated, change our town, or get married, everything changes. So to end that barrier and bridge the gap that comes among the cousins with the passage of time, National Cousin’s Day was introduced to reunite all the cousins that got separated due to some family issues and certain circumstances. The day lets them unite, hold a family get together, share old memories, smile at past moments, and spend some quality time with each other.
If you couldn’t celebrate the previous Cousin’s Day, you can make the upcoming one very special and enjoyable. On July 24, contact your cousins and let them know that you adore and love them. if they live close to you, spend time together and go for a picnic or a festive lunch with them. If they are away from you, use all the social media services to send them heart-touching messages and beautiful greeting cards. Tell them that you miss them, and this distancing has created a gap that you want to bridge. Have a video call with them and share your old memories with a beautiful smile and sparkling eyes full of tears. This will revive your relationship and start a new era of love and friendship with you and your cousins.
